Foster Care Mental Health Family Navigator (FCFN)

The Juvenile Dependency Court (JDC) is responsible for and oversees child welfare-involved (CWI) youth’s health and safety needs. Therefore, the JDC provides a unique context to develop and test a family navigator model, the Foster Care Family Navigator (FCFN) intervention, to assist this population with mental health services access and engagement. Combining family-based intervention and mHealth, the FCFN will inform future interventions assisting CWI youth and families navigating complex systems when seeking mental health care.
